Clayton G. Blehm, MD

Clayton G. Blehm, M.D., graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas and earned his medical degree from the University of Texas-Houston Medical School. He completed his internship at the Baylor College of Medicine and his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas-Houston.

Dr. Blehm has led and assisted in numerous research projects and has presented the findings at multiple national meetings and through published journal articles. He was among the first in Georgia to perform laser cataract surgery and has taught this technique to surgeons across the country.

Dr. Blehm is a board-certified ophthalmologist and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. His practice has an emphasis on cataract surgery, diabetic care and glaucoma treatment. In 2019 and 2020, he was voted as a Top Doctor in Atlanta by Castle Connolly.

In addition to practicing in Gainesville and Cornelia, Dr. Blehm has surgical consultation locations in Blairsville, Georgia and Franklin, North Carolina.

Dr. Blehm enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, mountain biking, hiking, playing bass guitar and volunteering in church. He also likes attending concerts and music festivals, watching any sport and traveling to as many cities/ mountains/beaches as he can. He feels blessed to live in such a vibrant part of the world.
